Syllabus - Sinker Auxiliary Class

Sinker Auxiliary Class - MDI and NC programming fundamentals

Operations Course - 2 Days

The MDI and NC Programming Fundamentals Course is designed as entry-level instruction for the machine programmer in the various M and G code syntax and utilization.

Description:

The MDI and NC Programming Fundamentals Course will start with a step by step description of each G and M code. This will be followed by several sample program lessons, which will gradually familiarize the student with general NC program concepts, layout, and structure. Use of program variables and sub-routines will be demonstrated. How to program arc curves and compound details will be explained. Usage of advanced topics such as type 2 vs. user variables, lettering programs, loops, and debugging methods will be discussed.

Note that this course tends to be more interactive than the level 1 and 2 operation classes. Course instructors welcome real world topics from the class and students are encouraged to bring copies of their programs, which might be used to illustrate solutions. Of necessity, this will be restricted to program lengths which will not interfere with the fundamental course.

Who should attend:

This course is designed for operators who have either attended the Machine Fundamental course and the Application /Optimization class.

Previous CAD programming experience will enhance your instruction.

A good understanding of CNC operations and general EDM concepts is suggested. Knowledge of industry terms used in this course will greatly aid in utilization of the strategies discussed.
